    What do you think are...

the major issues now in 2010, have they changed any? I've made a list of my top 3, but I'll be adding to it as I put my other in order. Curious to see others though.

    1) Economy - Really jobs, the stimulus created a couple of million, there was also a bill yesterday I think that gives a tax credit to businesses for new hires. Jobs always lag behind after a recession, but since this one was pretty bad, we have to focus on jobs more.

    2) Healthcare - There has to be reform of this awful system, with reconciliation now on the table, I'm pretty confident reform will be passed. There has to be something done.

    3) Education - Tuition costs are through the roof and have skyrocketed year after year, even higher costs than those of my #2. Education, whether it be K-12 or College, is incredibly important and will only become more important in the future. What burns me up is people like a new, great Gov. who have it near the bottom of the list of priorities.

Not sure if energy costs would be a subset of the econamy or not.......When the econamy turns around IMHO you are going to see oil (and other energy prices) jump big time. Honistly I liked that the Presadent is adding New nucular plants to our future energy plans but in all honisty I would feel better if this was a bigger plan

For me it's the state of the nation as a whole. Huge debt to China, among others. Stupid, self-destructive trade agreements. Rampant influence peddling. A handicapping tax system that favors the rich. The worst medical delivery system in the civilized world, which will not be fixed by the proposed changes.

Internationally it is the very real growing threat of absolute idiots possessing nuclear weapons.

thats a huge issue to me, is that our tax system hurts the lower class so much, while the rich and major corporations can get breaks and write offs for just about anything.

Thats in my top 3 for sure, education, the economy, and international affairs.

it doesnt matter what we do here if Iran or North Korea decides to start a nuclear war

I'm really close to bumping healthcare up to #1, it shows no signs of slowing down. It's a shame the right has thrown out this many lies on it, the "death panels", a "takeover" and countless other nonsense...but says a lot for a lot of their followers who actually believe them.

Warren Buffet has a 17.7% tax rate.

    His secretary?

    30%

Most people in the lower middle class pay somewhere around 30-50% of their income in taxes.

Whereas people who make tons of money usually pay below 20%.

you dont see the problem in that?
    http://freakonomics.blogs.nytimes.co...my-fair-share/

the top 400 tax returns averaged about 16% tax rate, the lowest its been since the IRS began these reports in 1992.
